Ricord's Iguana, 18" x 24" Canvas Giclee

The Story: The critically endangered Cyclura ricordi, also known as the Hispaniola ground iguana and Ricord's ground or rock iguana, is in great peril mainly due to loss of habitat and human encroachment. The Ricord's Iguana is endemic to the savannas  and scrublands of The Dominican Republic and Haiti.

A very special thank you goes to Christopher Pellecchia. Without his wonderful and invaluable photos, this painting wouldn't have been possible. Christopher Pellecchia is a Doctoral student at the University of Southern Mississippi, a Special Projects Staff member of the International Reptile Conservation Foundation, Inc., an IUCN Iguana Specialist Group Member, and a NASA/MSSGC Fellow. His dissertation research is focused on the conservation and ecology of the Ricord's Rock Iguana (Cyclura ricordi) and the Rhinoceros Iguana (Cyclura cornuta) in the Dominican Republic.

This giclee is printed on Innova Smooth paper and each print is inspected, signed, numbered and packed by the artist. This painting's edition is only 100 Limited Edition Prints and 10 Canvas Giclees.
